Amy Smart was an American model and actress. Amy Smart, born and raised California USA began her modelling in Italy. In 1996 she made her first appearance as an actress in the TV movie Her Costly Affair. She struggled to get the role she wanted in Starship Troopers. Amy had a difficult time making the transition from modeling to acting, as models are not usually considered to be actors of any kind. Models are often only given minor and unimportant parts. However, Amy was determined to keep going and began to take on larger roles, beginning with the series The 70s and the film Varsity Blues. She then ventured into the main roles for the 2005 romantic comedy Just Friends which also starred Ryan Reynolds. Amy attained the fame she'd been seeking for nearly 10 years after her film called Just Friends came out. She continued to do important films like Crank opposite Jason Statham or Shameless in which she became a cherished regular role.
