Dolly Parton was born on January 19, 1946, at Locust Ridge Tenn. She grew up alongside 12 other kids. Her imaginative mind helped her escape from life's harsh reality. life. Her songs were written before she learned to read or write. In the year she turned eight, she bought her first electric guitar and started singing at the Knoxville Tenn Radio Station. She recorded her first album within the same calendar year with Gold Band Records, a small label that was an independent. In high school She made her mark in the local community, yet she yearned for a larger stage. The singer moved to Nashville following her graduation in 1964. Dumb Blonde (both 1967) and Something Fishy were among her first Monument Records chart-topping records. Porter Wagoner had been looking for a female singer for his show that was syndicated at this point. Parton joined Grand Ole Opry 1969 after contracting to RCA Records. In 1974, she resigned from Wagoner's show due to the commercial success of her own songs such as Joshua Coats from Many Colors or Jolene was surpassing their joint albums. Following their breakup, Parton wrote the song I Will Always Love You for Wagoner and it reached No. #1 for the first time since 1974.
