Lee

Lee Roy Selmon's story is a mix of football scholarship for his family and service to the community. First family, he's the youngest of the nine children born to Lucious and Jessie Selmon raised on a farm at Eufala, Oklahoma. Two soccer. He is among three brothers who participated in the football team of Oklahoma. The three brothers all made All-America. One year 1973 Lucious Jr. Dewey and Lee Roy were starters. Lee Roy is the winner of both Outland Awards and Lombardi Awards. He was the top lineman for across the country. He was awarded two championships as well as the score was 32-1-1 over his three seasons as Oklahoma's main man. A third scholarship saw him named an National Football Foundation Scholar-Athlete in 1975. Selmon received a diploma in education. Fourth-year service in the college Lee Roy devoted ten hours per week to volunteer projects. After graduation Lee Roy moved to Tampa where he spent nine years playing with the Buccaneers. 3 times, he was named an All-Pro. He began his business career. In 1988, as an account representative at First Florida Bank of Tampa, he worked with Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. The Junior Chamber of Commerce honored Lee Roy in 1982 for being one of the top 10 youngsters in the US. When he was a student Lee Roy was 6-2 and weighed about 256 pounds. He coached his university team in the year 1975. He was promoted to the athletic director's assistant at the University of South Florida. He was named to the College Football Hall of Fame in 1988, and the GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame in 1994 and the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1995. His parents, Lucious as well as Mary Selmon, Jr. were awarded the Distinguished American Award in 1989 from the Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation.
